Drivers that wish to train to drive an Articulated Large Goods Vehicle (LGV1) must first pass their LGV2, category C driving test. On receiving full LGV2 entitlement back from the DVLA you can commence with training. There is no minimum length of time that you need to hold your LGV2 cat C licence

To achieve a high standard of driving sufficient to pass the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) driving test you will develop their existing driving skills in the following areas

Vehicle Control
You will learn how to drive the vehicle, operating its controls smoothly and concisely, handling each situation that arises safely and under vehicular control. You will need to understand the vehicles capabilities, handling characteristics and limitations.

All Round Awareness
As a professional LGV Driver you will learn the importance of knowing what is happening all around you at any time. You will be conscious of any potential hazards that may develop and deal with them accordingly at the correct time.

Forward Planning
Articulated Large Goods Vehicles need more time to brake, accelerate and to manoeuvre. You will plan ahead and slow down, indicate and act much earlier than usual when approaching junctions or hazards.

Your Driving Instructor will teach you the necessary skills required to drive to a much higher standard than you first thought possible. Our highly experienced DSA Registered Driving Instructors are trained to identify, analyse and remedy any shortcomings in your driving abilities, whilst putting you at your ease and building your self-confidence. We pride ourselves with a much higher first time pass rate than our competitors.
