DSA Driving Test Fees
The Driving Standards Agency has announced its proposals to increase the cost of the LGV practical driving test and other fees from April 2007. They propose to increase the cost from £90.00 to £105.00. Lorry and Bus tests were last increased in 2005. The full consultation paper can be viewed on www.dsa.gov.uk

Shortage of LGV Drivers
A recent survey by Skills for Logistics, (the Sector Skills Council for the UK Freight Logistics Industries) has highlighted a shortage of LGV drivers in the UK of 17,000.

Reversing Procedure for LGV Driving Tests
After consulting a Senior Examining Officer it has now been confirmed that candidates carrying out their reversing exercise on their test ARE now allowed to exit the vehicle and check their position. If the vehicle is not parked within the area specified to pass the exercise the vehicle can be moved accordingly. However the candidate cannot leave the cab more than once.
